Toyota Motor Sales Issues September 2012 Sales Preview

 

 Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., reported monthly sales of 171,910 units in September 2012, up 41.5 percent on both a daily selling rate (DSR) basis and on an unadjusted raw volume basis.


The Best Selling Hybrids

 

For 12 years, the Toyota Prius hybrid stood alone in the growing lineup of Toyota vehicles.

Then, for 2012, the Prius model became a whole family of cars–four of them, in fact.

So which of the new Prius family members is doing the best so far, and which kid is lagging and might benefit from some after-school tutoring?

Actually, it turns out, all three new models are doing pretty well–raising Prius sales substantially this year over last year's figures.

Through September, the company has sold 183,340 Toyota Prius models. That compares to 136,453 in all of 2011, and 140,928 the year before.

Toyota the GREENEST BRAND in the WORLD

Toyota has been named the greenest brand in the world in Interbrand’s first global report to focus exclusively on green.

The new report, which ranks 3M in second place and Siemens in third, combines public perception of environmental sustainability and a demonstration of green performance.

The Best Global Green Brands study finds that the strongest green brands consistently differentiate themselves and engage in green activities that consumers find relevant, as well as implementing profitable green practices across their organisations, including setting up and running environmental programmes and effectively measuring and reporting their performance to the public.

Toyota Overtakes BMW

 

Toyota overtakes BMW as most valuable global car brand

Toyota Motor Corp. has regained its position as the world's most valuable auto brand despite the carmaker's massive recall campaign.

Toyota's brand value jumped 11 percent to $24.2 billion in the BrandZ Top 100 annual ranking of the world's most valuable brands, overtaking BMW, which was No. 1 last year in the automotive category.

The ranking, whose 2011 results were released today, were compiled by the research company Millward Brown.

Toyota Back in Full Production

 

Toyota: North America output to hit 70 percent of pre-quake levels by end of June

Toyota Motor Corp. said today that it expects to restore North American production to about 70 percent of normal levels by the end of June — two months earlier than had been anticipated.

The automaker said output of eight North American-made Toyota models — Avalon, Camry, Corolla, Highlander, Matrix, Sequoia, Sienna and Venza — is also expected to return to normal levels by the end of June.
